Update, March 2021

After Boris Johnson’s announcement at the end of February, things are feeling positive and we hope to be able to open soon!

Although the roadmap for outdoor adventure activities isn’t completely clear, we are currently working on the following basis:

From 1 April 2021: Outdoor activities can resume with groups made up of a single household.

From 12 April 2021: We can take out groups of up to two households.

From 21 June 2021: No limit on the size of groups or number of households, other than our own usual restrictions based on safety, equipment and instructors available.

At the moment, these are only guidelines and may change. We will be keeping an eye on Government updates and share any changes as we know them. Please keep an eye on our blog and Facebook page.

We are now taking bookings for activities starting from the 1st of April. Browse our adventures now.

Update: November 2020

Following the Government’s announcement on the 31st of October 2020, we have taken the decision to close until the end of the year 2020, reopening in 2021 as restrictions at that time allow.

It has been a very unusual year but we have had a fantastic summer taking visitors and locals alike out for amazing outdoor adventures including ghyll scramblingcanyoningpaddle boardingClimb the Mine, and more.

We were also very proud to receive TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Award 2020. Thank you to everyone who reviewed us so positively! It’s been amazing to meet so many of you, whether you were visiting the Lake District or are a local Cumbrian.

There has been much more to celebrate this year, including us being able to offer more outdoor adventure activities, taking part in some exciting projects (watch this space!), and introducing a brand new canyoning experience.

You can still book experiences for 2021 or buy a Gift Voucher as a present for the upcoming festivities – just get in touch. There’s still plenty of adventure on the horizon!

It’s been a year to remember for many different reasons and we’ll look forward to seeing you all in the new year!

Update: June 2020

Following this week’s announcement by Boris Johnson, we are delighted that lockdown measures are being relaxed from early July, allowing more people to enjoy outdoor activities in Keswick and the Lake District.

We can now take bookings for any size groups (up to the usual limit for the specific activity), as long as the following applies:

  • The activity takes place from the 4th of July 2020 onwards
  • Members of the group are from no more than two households
  • No member of your group is showing symptoms of Coronavirus, or have done in the last two weeks.

You can take part in an activity with us before the 4th of July 2020, as long as the following applies:

  • Maximum group size of 5, plus an instructor
  • Group members can be from more than one household
  • No member of the group is showing symptoms of Coronavirus, or have done in the last two weeks.

We will continue to maintain additional safety measures until the Government announces this is no longer necessary. These include:

  • Social distancing should still be followed: a new ‘1 metre plus’ rule will be introduced from the 4th of July for when 2 metres is not possible, but we will continue to aim for 2 metres as far as we can.
  • All of our equipment will be thoroughly washed and/or quarantined for at least 72 hours after each use.

From the 4th of July, we can also accept bookings from guests who are travelling from further afield, as accommodation will be open and visitors to the Lake District will be allowed to stay overnight.

There are lots of benefits to outdoor activities, and one of those is that there is a very low risk of transmission of the virus.

We can’t wait to get even more people outdoors onto the lakes, rivers and fells of the Lake District!

For more information, please feel free to get in touch, or take a look at our activities and book yours today!
