The Concept and the Challenge

Ideal as a unique group activity - whether for team building or a bit of fun -  you and your fellow captives will attempt to break free from a situation where you are detained, trapped, or restrained. Each experience is bespoke to your group’s abilities and requirements, so every challenge will be different, but some activities you might expect can include:

Break free

Work out how to get out of handcuffs, ropes, or locked enclosures to escape captivity. Use tools or improvised items to free yourself and your fellow captives.

Escape an area of danger

Use your knowledge, instincts and wit to identify escape routes and locate key checkpoints using maps and any tools, available or improvised. Look out for natural landmarks and plan a course to safety while avoiding well-traveled roads and predictable paths.

Navigate rugged terrain

The landscape around Keswick is full of ancient forests, winding rivers and rough mountain terrain. Combined, these will present challenging obstacles that stand between you and freedom. As a team, you need to rise to the challenge to escape capture.

Overcome obstacles

Whether you cross a river torrent, abseil down a rock face, or balance on a precarious log bridge over a ravine, your mettle will really be tested in the face of these challenges. Some will be leaders, and some will be followers, but no one can truly succeed without the whole group.

Complete survival tasks

Survival skills are a must when you’re running for your life. Learn how to make a fire in the wild with only basic materials, prepare a hot meal to keep your energy up, and build a camouflaged hideout to avoid detection. Avoid leaving tracks or other clues about your whereabouts or route.

Man down

Rescuing a casualty is a critical test of teamwork. This scenario will simulate a real life rescue operation where your group must work together to evacuate an injured team mate to safety. No one gets left behind.

Who's it for?

Stag and Hen Parties

Ideal for an active and outdoorsy group on a stag or hen celebration. Because of the bespoke nature of the adventure, it’s perfect for a mixed group with different abilities. It will make a pre-wedding adventure that no one will ever forget. Turn your ‘do up a notch!

Corporate and Team Building

Nothing encourages a team to work together like running for their life! Walk away from the cue cards and post-it notes for a team building exercise that really brings your group together. Each member will be encouraged to think on their feet, discover each other’s strengths and weaknesses and work together with their team mates to be successful. They’ll return to the office from their corporate away day more resilient, appreciating their colleagues more, and feeling a true sense of achievement.

Groups of Friends

If you’re celebrating a big birthday, or are just looking for something different to do, then this is one of the most unique group activities available in the Lake District! Think of it like a ginormous outdoor escape room where you have to get through challenges to outsmart your captors. It’s an ideal day out for an adventurous group of mates.

Safety

While we aim to make this experience as realistic as possible, as always, our primary concern is the safety of all participants.

All of our “trackers” are highly trained and experienced. Even if you don’t see us, we’re always nearby and ready to act if we think anyone is at risk of hurting themselves or others. We are very familiar with all of our locations around Keswick, and know the area and terrain well. If the adventure is taking place at another location, we carry out a comprehensive recce and full safety assessment.

Your team will be fully briefed before heading out and provided with top-quality equipment to keep them warm and protected in the rugged terrain.

We’re also keen to protect this beautiful area where we live. That means that we strictly follow “leave no trace”. We’ll let your team know what is and isn’t acceptable in the natural environment. For example, fires shouldn’t be lit on grass where they leave marks, and wood shouldn’t be chopped from trees.

We’re here to have fun, but we also know that safety is no joke. If you have any more questions about safety on your adventure, please feel free to get in touch.
