Canoeing
Paddle your canoe across the peaceful waters of Derwentwater or down a Lake District river.
A canoeing adventure in the Lake District is one of the best and most relaxing ways you can explore the waterways around Keswick. In our two-person Canadian canoes you can share the paddling while you glide along the water enjoying the sights.
Canoeing is ideal for those who want to explore the water without getting too wet (though there’s always a chance you’ll get splashed!). It’s also well suited for families with younger children who need help with their paddling, couples who want to enjoy a joint adventure, and larger groups seeking an activity that everyone can take part in.

Glide across Derwentwater lake or along Keswick's winding rivers.
Canoeing in Keswick is the perfect group or family activity for seeing the Lake District scenery from a different point of view. Our wide Canadian canoes are more sturdy than kayaks, which means you're less likely to fall in. Perfect if you're a little nervous about getting wet!
With support from our experienced local instructors, you’ll learn how to properly enter and exit your canoe, as well as launch, paddle and land. Then we’ll be off on our Lake District canoe adventure where you’ll see wildlife, admire the scenery, and find out why this is such a popular outdoor adventure activity!
Get kitted up and join our expert instructors for a gorgeous day out on the water.
