News and information about our activities and the local area
We’re thrilled to confirm that we are finalists in the Rural Business Awards (RBAs) 2021-22!
Set up by Anna Price and Jemma Clifford, the Awards showcase the number of talent in rural areas of Britain. Partnering with Amazon this year, they celebrate the achievements of rural business owners and their work. It’s about not only building and running businesses, but in supporting local communities.
As you can imagine, we’re absolutely delighted with the announcement. We’ve got an amazing team here and so this is a real celebration for everyone involved with Keswick Adventures. It’s been a busy year, in spite of Covid, and lots of work has been going on behind the scenes to make our adventures even better. This nod from the RBAs is a great boost!
As part of the application process, we provided the RBAs with details of how we are involved in local communities, and what we do to support our local areas. We thought this would be a great opportunity to share some of our work and opportunities with you, too.
Covid and the resulting lockdowns have been hard on us all. We also know the amazing benefits that getting outdoors can have on mental health. So we are providing free activities to those who have suffered as a result of mental health issues due to Covid isolation.
Founder, Lee Simpson, is passionate about mental health and has a lot of experience in the area. He has worked with emergency services staff suffering PTSD and emotional issues, using the great outdoors as a therapeutic space. He has also been involved with young people in the care system, young offenders, and vulnerable adults. We hope that Keswick Adventures can play a part in easing the difficulties of those suffering poor mental health.
If you’d like to take advantage of this offer, please get in touch.
Local people can take advantage of heavily discounted activities during select events we put on throughout the year. These are only available to people who live in Cumbria, and we hope it gives you the opportunity to experience adventure on your days off!
As we spend a lot of time in local tourist hot spots, we regularly litter pick in these areas. This keeps things looking beautiful and pleasant for both locals and visitors. We believe it’s really important that everyone – locals and visitors alike – continues to get maximum enjoyment out of the countryside.
If you think we can help support you in any of these areas, or others, please feel free to contact us. We’re always happy to have a chat.
The regional winners of the Rural Business Awards are due to be announced on the 1st of October at an online presentation. Watch this space!
