The Best Live Music in Keswick

Person playing an acoustic guitar

After we've had a great day on the water we love to head into Keswick to grab a pint at one of the amazing pubs or to sit back and enjoy some live music. During the summer especially, there are lots of brilliant local acts in the pubs, bars and venues across this Lake District town, so you'll be spoiled for choice.

Book your adventure and then browse these top places for the best live music in Keswick.

The Crafty Baa

Could this be the quirkiest bar in Keswick? We certainly think so! Full of fascinating bric-a-brac and music that ranges from acoustic to jazz, you won't quickly forget this spot. There are plenty of craft beers to sample (over 100, in fact!), delicious locally sourced meals to munch on, and over 100 different whiskies to sup!

The Back Bar

The Back Bar in the Inn on the Square is a family- and dog-friendly pub with exposed stone walls, wooden beams and a welcoming wood burner. There's plenty of entertainment, including a pool table, darts, live sports and, of course, regular live music sessions. Head here for a comfortable and relaxed evening in the very centre of Keswick.

Theatre by the Lake

Keswick's lakeside theatre is a great place to catch occasional live music, as well as theatre, cinema and talks. A more formal atmosphere than the local bars and pubs, the theatre is well worth a visit and is renowned for its excellent performances.

Oddfellows Arms

You'll hear the excellent sounds of live music coming from the Oddfellows Arms on most Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the year. Starting at 9pm, you can enjoy an evening packed full of entertainment. And this traditional market town pub is right in the heart of Keswick, so you won't have far to get home either! Dogs are welcome and details of music acts can be found on their Facebook page.

Threlkeld Village Hall

Threlkeld is a small village just a 10-minute drive from Keswick (or about an hour and a half's walk along the railway path if you're not too exhausted after your outdoor adventures!) The village hall has a packed programme of events throughout the year, including plenty of live music. You'll find all sorts of styles here, including brass bands, Americana and folk.

The Lodore Falls Hotel

Head south from Keswick and into Borrowdale and you'll soon come upon the stunning Lodore Falls Hotel and Spa. Though their live music nights aren't overly frequent, they're great fun when they do take place, and it's advised that you book in advance. The popular music evenings are full-on events with welcome drinks and a three course meal served while you enjoy the entertainment.

The Pocket Café Bar

One of Keswick's newest venues, The Pocket Café Bar has an amazing atmosphere in a bright and airy space. They serve mouth-watering pizza, tasty local ales, and thirst-quenching Belgian beers to keep your taste buds active. You'll often find The Pocket buzzing on a Friday evening when they host live music events that include DJs, acoustic guitars and singers. If that's not enough entertainment for you, there are also frequent quiz nights.

Festivals

As well as regular live music events in Keswick's venues, there are a number of festivals that take place in this Lake District town throughout the year. These are amazing events with lots going on and they often last a full weekend or more. If you're visiting at the right time, check out these festivals, all of which include plenty of live music. And look out for the Keswick Adventures team, as we can often be found wandering around and enjoying the atmosphere!

Don't forget to book your outdoor adventure before you settle down for an evening of live music, tasty food, and good company.
