10 Amazing Restaurants in Keswick

Waiting staff holding a platter that contains two burger and some chunky chips

Keswick has some incredible restaurants showcasing food from all around the world. From the best burgers to top Thai, there's something to suit everyone. All these restaurants are popular, so remember to book ahead (where possible) to avoid disappointment.

If you're planning a feast after one of our outdoor adventures, we recommend giving yourself at least three hours from the start of the activity to your restaurant booking.

Here's our pick of some of the Keswick restaurants that we rate. Don't forget to book an outdoor adventure, too, and work up a good appetite.

The Round

One of our absolute favourites,The Round serves the BEST burgers ever. And we don't say that lightly. This restaurant-with-bar offers a buzzing atmosphere right in the town centre of Keswick. They don't take bookings, so just walk in, find a seat, and pick from their mountain-themed menu. There's the Great Gobble, Katsu Bells, and Pullvellyn, to name just a few. After you're done eating, hang out at the bar for some delicious cocktails or craft beers.

We recommend: Nothing beats a classic: we love the Round's Classic Burger with an amaretto whiskey sour on the side.

Casa Bella

Who doesn't love a tasty pizza after a day exploring the lakes and mountains? Casa Bella is a family-run restaurant serving up all sorts of Italian goodies from quirky pizzas to satisfying pastas and hearty meat dishes. They also make traditional homemade gelato that you can eat for dessert or just as a snack as you're passing by.

Star of Siam

We're off now to another part of the world in the shape of Star of Siam, a Thai restaurant in a lovely double-fronted building on Keswick's Main Street. Open 6 days a week (closed on Tuesdays), the small team are dedicated to friendly service and authentic Thai cuisine. This is a great place if you like a spicy fix, but there's also plenty for those with a milder taste. Enjoy the aromatic meals and welcoming atmosphere while you're here.

We recommend: Start your meal with the delicious Tom Yum soup.

The Pheasant Inn

If you fancy something homey and comforting, then the pub food and real ales at The Pheasant Inn will be just up your street. You can expect to have your pick of popular pub fare including Cumberland sausage and mash, homemade soup, beef pie and Whitby scampi. They even have the added bonus of an open fire – perfect if you happened to get a little bit wet on one of our outdoor activities!

Bar eS Tapas

Rustic, colourful and relaxed, Bar eS is a delight from the moment you walk in the front door. With a great choice of Mexican Tapas dishes, the restaurant is slightly off the main hustle and bustle of Keswick's main streets, so you could easily miss it if you didn't know where to look. It's certainly worth hunting out though, and everyone from meat eaters to vegans are catered for. Food is served until 9pm every day of the week, and the bar is open until 11pm (or midnight on Friday and Saturday), so there's no need for you to hurry away.

A day of outdoor adventure activities there's nothing better than enjoying the warm welcome at Fellpack. The eclectic menu changes each season so there's always something new, exciting and delicious to try. On top of the great food, you can expect brilliant service and a relaxed dining experience. There's even outdoor tables so you can enjoy al fresco dining in the warmer months!

The Square Orange

This teeny tiny restaurant is small on space but big on character thanks to its tasty food, colourful décor and well stocked bar. You can't book at The Square Orange but, even if you have to wait a little for a seat, your patience will be well rewarded. The pizzas are particularly popular, but you'll also want to try their tapas, nachos, coffees, beers… Really, you'll need several visits to do this place justice! They also host the occasional live music night.

We recommend: Lee is partial to  a spicy pizza from the Square Orange.

Chinese food is the nation's favourite, so Golden Hills has a real treat in store! Run by second-generation British-born Chinese couple Laura and Andy, their aim is to provide a truly excellent eating experience.
