About Keswick
We may be biased, but we think Keswick is the most wonderful place in the world. And sat inside the stunning Lake District National Park, who could deny its appeal?
Not only is the pretty town surrounded by stunning mountain scenery - under the protection of famous fells like Skiddaw and Blencathra - it’s right next to the lake of Derwentwater, and offers a huge amount of things to do. From cultural delights, to a laid-back nightlife, to outdoor activities galore, there really is something for everyone.
There have been signs of human habitation in Keswick since Neolithic times, and its popular market has been running since 1276. It has seen booms in industry and tourism throughout the years and its everlasting appeal has inspired poets, authors and artists. The town now, along with the surrounding countryside and villages, continues to welcome all sorts of people to its mountains, waters, and attractions.
