As one of the most popular destinations in the Lake District, you can be sure that there are plenty of things to do in Keswick. Whatever’s up your street, there’s bound to be something for you to enjoy.
Of course, as you’d expect, we’re big fans of everything outdoors and everything adventurous. Fortunately, Keswick is the best place for that. Surrounded by towering mountains, on the shores of a glittering lake, and close to impressive valleys, you’re never short of a thing or two to do!
You can take a look at all of our outdoor activities and book your own guided adventure, or – if you have the right experience – head out on your own. There are walks galore directly from Keswick, or in Borrowdale or the Newlands Valley. Rock climbers and boulderers can go indoors in Keswick, or outdoors in Borrowdale. If you’re a water lover, hire a boat at Derwentwater or take a cruise on one of the Keswick Launches.
If the weather’s a bit wet or you just fancy a break from the outdoors, Keswick also has plenty of indoor activities. The town boasts two local museums, a theatre, Art Deco cinema, Puzzling Place, and lots of shops. There are also stately homes nearby, as well as forest walks at Whinlatter and Dodd Wood, which will keep you sheltered.
