Fortunately, Keswick has plenty of pubs to choose from. From the small and friendly, to the large and buzzing, there will always be something to whet your appetite!
1. The Crafty Baa

If you're looking for somewhere a little bit quirky, then check out the family-run The Crafty Baa. Full of interesting knick-knacks, friendly staff, and a good range of craft beers and funky cocktails, it's everything you need for an atmospheric afternoon or evening. They host live music 4 nights a week and it's one of our favourite bars in Keswick to hang out at.

2. The Bank Tavern
Dog friendly
With a well stocked bar and centrally located in Keswick, The Bank Tavern offers plenty of choice in both its food and its drinks. The pub is one of the oldest in Keswick and is full of character. It's the perfect place to go if you're looking for that traditional pub feel.
Opening times: 11am - 11pm daily, and until 11.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays
3. The Wainwright Pub

The Wainwright is a small but lovely pub at the end of the pedestrianised area of Keswick. It has won a number of accolades, including Pub of The Year Silver from The Great Outdoors magazine and was named in ViewRanger's 12 Best UK Walking Pubs. Sit with your drinks and enjoy retro footage of some local walk, as well as lots of interesting titbits about its namesake, Alfred Wainwright.

4. The Dog and Gun

If you're in Keswick with your dogs, then you'll want to head to The Dog and Gun where you'll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The piece-de-resistance is their famous homemade Hungarian goulash – wash it down with one of the real ales from their large selection! The Dog & Gun has you covered for both winter and summer, with an open fire for cold days and a small beer garden for when the sun shines.
Opening times: 11am - 11pm daily, except on Sundays when it closes at 10.30pm.
5. The Pocket Cafe Bar

Offering something a little bit different in Keswick, The Pocket is all about the music. The café bar serves a mix of local ales, Belgian beers, gins and wines. There's live music from local performers every Friday evening, an Open Mic night every Monday from 8pm, and varying events such as bingo, pub quizzes, and DJs on Wednesdays. Enjoy all this music while you munch on one of The Pocket's tasty homemade pizzas.

6. The Fox Tap

Part of the Keswick Brewing Co., The Fox Tap serves home-brewed beers in an excellent atmosphere. Their monthly Brewery Socials are a great excuse to enjoy a friendly drink and some street food, but any day of the month is ideal for a visit! You can also take a tour of the brewery and, if you sup on something you love, buy your own souvenir bottles from their shop.
Opening times: Tuesday to Saturday 12 – 5pm.
7. Crooked River Tap

The taproom of Crooked River Brewing Co is one of our favourite bars in Keswick and you can often see Lee and Becca in there sipping one of the local beers. There are live music events twice a month, plus other events such as quizzes and guest DJs. The taproom was a finalist in the Cumbria Food Awards 2026, and their beers have won multiple awards at the IB and SIBA Awards. Go and have a taste for yourself!
Opening times: 1pm - 9pm daily, except on Tuesdays when it's 1.30pm - 9.30pm
8. The Pheasant Inn

Sitting on the road out of Keswick, you could easily miss The Pheasant Inn, which would be a real shame! It sits right across the road from our HQ, so is perfect after a day of adventuring if you just want to pop over, grab a beer and something to eat, and chill out. It's a traditional-style pub that serves great food - what more could you want?

9. Barua Street Food

This bar in the heart of Keswick is a real find. Barua serves amazing Indian street food and has an Indian-inspired cocktail menu as well as a careful selection of beers, wines, whisky and alcohol free items. The emphasis is on sharing, so make sure your group is prepared to sample each dish.
